Fuck

Goddamn it. Another sore throat. What the fuck is going on with me? I'm beginning to think I'm allergic to something in my bedroom, specifically my bed. I was ok, sitting and walking around in my bedroom the other day and then as soon as I lay my head on the pillow, I started feeling the throat go. Fucking hell. This is the third time this month. Now either it's my immune system, or it's something else. I have to find out, because this is driving me nuts.

Well off to gargle with salt water. We'll see how it goes! *fingers crossed*

Ahhhh

Haha. I have great mates. Really. I came in this morning to work and what do I find on my chair in a white plastic bag?

*laughs insanely*

So I phoned the one who I *knew* had left it. She pretended she didn't know what I was talking about, and I had a brief moment of thinking that I had the wrong person and then...

Mate: maybe it just beamed down there.

Me: HA! BEAMED?! You bugger!

Mate: *laughing*

Man, that made my day. And because Spock can't be alone, he needs his woman, I took a chance and stopped by another box store and lo and behold, there she was; looking like Beyonce. Ew.

The six inchers look much better. So, while I have the little three inchers now, I might spring for the six inchers.... that is if I'm not turned off by the movie. So I'll wait until I see the film before I open my wallet. :) But for now, yay!

WTF?

Chris and Zach talk first aid

Umm... right.

Caption contest

Caption contests are really hit or miss. Sometimes they're just really peculiar. But this one make me laugh. So un-Spock-like for him to say what he said.

Uhura: Since we're fucking can I drop the Mr. Bit?
Spock: I shall consider it my little milk dud, however, it's imperative that it's included when we we role play our teacher/student fantasy.

-from cakes488

Little milk dud? I don't know if I think that's cute, or if I should be offended. Ha! Apparently this same person said that they were repulsed by the idea of Uhura and Spock having a relationship in this movie. I'm not certain if they were being facetious or not. One can never tell on those boards.

But, I can definitely say that I lurved this one:

UHURA:"I will miss our time together Spock."

SPOCK: "Not nearly as much as I shall miss pulling that pony tail of yours and smacking your fine ass while we are...."

UHURA: "SPOCK!"

-from Alrik

Naughty!

I'm surprised no one mentioned that chick's huge ass. I mean, it's right there! It's huge!

What the...

Ok, wait. There's *serious* shippery of S/U in the new movie?? In terms of hugging and kissing? Are you kidding me? I saw this on the Trek BBS board. Lotsa complaining about the ship, lotsa lovin' it. Hell, I'm lovin' it.

Squeeeeee!

Oh! Found on livejournal today a spock/uhura group. How lovely. It's nice to see something dedicated specifically to them. I haven't had a chance to go through it as of yet, so I'll reserve judgment. :)

How cute are these two boys with Zoe? I mean, come on. You can't deny the cuteness!

Le sigh

Today I visited with the devil and came out relatively unscathed, but puzzled and a bit peeved. I can only come to two conclusions; one: they ran out of Uhura figures, or two: none were ordered. Three different places, including Toys R Us, and none of them had an Uhura. Go figure! Maybe they think that this is such a "boy" orientated film and universe that they wouldn't want to have Uhura to complete the bleedin' crew! I mean, c'mon. It's not like she's Ensign Toast, or something like that. I even saw a Nero one (which was very cute, yay, Eric!) but I didn't want to buy the trio, Spock, Uhura, Nero, without Uhura. Man, I even saw two different sizes of "older" Spock. No communications officer and that's a crying shame. I suppose if I'm encouraged enough, I'll order her online. But, as of now, I'm not that motivated. If anything, I'll get a Nichelle version of Uhura.

Perhaps after the film next month, they'll be an influx of more items. But as of now, the pickings are pretty paltry.

On a lighter note, I did see an "Amok Time" action set with Spock and his purply sparkly sash and Kirk with his sliced open tunic. Fantastic. I was tempted, but I managed to wrest myself away from purchasing it. I was there for one thing and one thing only. Maybe next time.

Arrrggg, I say

So, I heard that Wallmart is currently selling the TOS figures. I can't bring myself to shop at Wallmart. I think it's the devil. But, I can stomach Target. I dunno... don't question my logic about it. Anyway I traipse into Target in search of the figures and have to walk up and down the dreaded toy aisles to find them. I hate toy aisles. They are so completely gender specific and rather disgusting... oh don't get me started. Anyway, tucked between Star Wars and the Terminator was a slim column of TOS figures.

Ooo! And I hurriedly reached out and grabbed the sole Spock. Hmmm looked like Zach, which was very nice. I even saw an old Spock. (Yay, Len!) But... no Uhura. How is that possible!? They had everyone except her.... (and Nero) and I was disappointed. I can't buy Spock without his Uhura. I want to get them together, so I guess I'll either have to try another Target, or bite the bullet and venture into Walmart *shudders*.

Second muse, I really hate fanfic where Uhura and Spock have children. I dunno, to me, it kind of cramps their style. And it's always so angsty and bleh. I suppose it doesn't help that I dislike kids so... haha.

Leonard and his pony boy

If I could ever get off of my duff and write it down, (or if some special person has beaten me to the idea) I would love to see an RPS with Leonard and Zach. I mean, come on! Young actor taking lessons from a much admired older actor, I'd like to think that Zach would be salivating to be alone with him... offering himself as a boy-toy for the night.

I could see Leonard accepting and giving him quite another lesson. Yum.

Here's to wishing that Evil!Spock had agreed to accompany me on holiday

Back from a two week Holiday, yay! It was exhausting, but quite lovely! Now I know what they mean by needing a holiday from your holiday. But since I had my ipod, some select episodes (Mirror, Mirror in particular) as well as some other LN fanvids were right to hand. Lucky me. ;)

Did I mention that I was crafting an Uhura/Mirror Spock take over the world type fic? Well, I am and it's great fun, honestly. Before I left for my trip and still flushed with the idea of getting a ST novel to read on the plane, I went to my local Borders to check out their selection. It was really small to my surprise and I'd probably be better off popping into a used book store for a wider selection. Something makes me think that those types of books will be there in abundance.

Anywho, out of the ten or so Star Trek novels, there were no TOS and one Alternate Universe one that involved Spock, much to my delight! The title of it escapes me right now, but I snatched it up and started reading it. His story was one of three others in the compilation and the first line grabbed me right off the jump. It was something along the lines of how easy it was to choke Kirk to death and finally take over the Enterprise. Mmmm... just what I like in a Science Officer! But, then I read more and thought, "Hmm... Marlena features rather prominently and holy cow, they're kissing!!"

I put the book down. Well, she was always the captain's woman, right? Fuck. Spock would be nuts to pass that up, or gay... but we'll leave that one for another discussion. Anyway, flip flip flip flip... check the price, flip flip flip.... no Uhura... flip flip flip... I put the book back and went home to check it out on the net to see what the reviews were like and whatnot. Memory Alpha and Beta were good starts and once realizing that one was canon and one was fanon (after panicking that it might have been canon that Spock and Marlena had married and you don't really mess with canon!) I felt better about putting my spin on that universe. Hey, it had been done before and I wasn't trying to get it published. But just in case I thought about it later, well... it was good to know that it was fanon that they were married. Thank you Memory Alpha for calming me down. And besides in that bloke's book, Spock marries Marlena and has Uhura killed. What the hell kind of universe would *that* happen in?! Not one that I wanted to read ;)

So I was really glad that I hadn't bought the book in my glee, hurried off home and then had my fit on the plane. Not nice :)

Anyway, so now I'm free to mess about with the Mirror universe all I like without some canon geek wagging a disapproving finger at me.

Now, onto my favourite boy:

Each time I see this scene and see how his sash tidies his figure at the waist, it makes me think that he looks like an action figure! He's all trim and proper and I love the side look he's giving Kirk. Heh. Lovely and calm and a bit of a pirate!

Mmmm look at those pouty lips. I like the silk scarf he's wearing. It's so neat and tight that I don't think it's actually tied about his neck. It has to be attached to the shirt in some way. I'd think that the mere movement of his body would shift and loosen it so that it would bunch up. Meh, maybe it did and he had to keep his movements sparse so that they wouldn't have to fix it for each shot. The only thing I didn't like about Spock's uniform having a scarf and not a proper high collar was that his adam's apple was subsequently exposed and bobbed when he spoke. It was rather distracting to me to say the least. *laughs* I couldn't help staring at it, and staring. There was that other occasion where Spock was shirtless, but... I don't remember that he'd spoken while facing the camera... or maybe I was just distracted by the face that he was shirtless! Shirtless and furry. That's a combination one wouldn't expect to say about him, eh?

Battling the evils of the throat

Is it the first of April already? Man, where is 2009 going all of a sudden? And, really, wasn't this a great time to get sick? I mean, wow, great timing when my vacation is in ohh... 4 days. Well, I fly out in four days, so officially it begins in 5 days. *sighs* Fortunately, and I say that through gritted teeth, I'm just experiencing a sore throat. A sore throat for 6 days now, jesus fucking christ. I finally went to have it checked out and everything seems fine, no fever, not strep and probably not mono. Could it have been all that singing I'd been doing a few days before it struck? Nah, would it have lasted this long if it was merely an irritation? Well, whatever it is, it is irritating! And I'm really doing my best not to get stressed out about the real possibility of having to contend with it while on holiday. I might go nuts if it lasts much longer. All the gargles, washes, vitamins, aspirin, nothing has put a dent in it... this sucker is here to stay. I did get some meds from the doctor, so let's hope that it takes care of things.

For now, I'm going to have some licorice tea, get in my jammies and watch some Mission Impossible. Wow, Paris has the BEST! hair. It's so thick and slithers all over the place at the slightest inclination. And to watch Leonard card his long fingers through his silky, sable strands to sweep it out of his face is like watching ballet. Hypnotic.
