Saturday sore throat and earache

Is it true that if you complain about your illness it'll go away? Yeah, I didn't think so either. Grrrr. I mean really. Maybe I just need a full check up to see that the hell needs to be fixed in me. But, I'm shuddering at the price of going to the doctor.

I have insurance, yes, and it's pretty good, but damn. When I went to the emergency walk in place just to have my throat looked at, to have my pressure taken and then to have a throat culture, that cost 800 dollars! EIGHT HUNDRED DOLLARS! The doctor didn't even check my glands to see if they were swollen, but he wanted to take blood for more tests. I really wasn't in the mood to get stuck so I told him to get stuffed.

Now that travesty of a price didn't cover the 20 dollars it cost to buy the meds from the pharmacy. I can't imagine what a full work up would cost. I guess I should take into consideration that it was a walk-in service and they might have elevated their prices because of it. *sweats*

I'll try some more holistic things before I trudge off to the doctor to see what will and won't work.

In other news, I'm just going to spend this relatively gloomy Saturday taking it easy, drinking fluids and downing aspirin and vit C. And resting. Yes, rest. It was hard this week to get some rest with my ear and throat nonsense. The worst thing about having a sore throat is that you're always reminded that you have it. When you eat, when you breathe when you swallow and yes my friends you are always swallowing whether it's out of fear or if you're just testing to see if it still hurts. Heh.

I'm also downloading the three seasons of Heroes. I've never watched this show and have no desire to get into watching it. I just want to see Sylar. And some Sylar/Maya (I'm all for the brown girls getting some lovin). Well, let me amend that statement. I was downloading a few episodes for Sylar/Maya and then I decided that I wanted to see more of ZQ outside of Maya and I started to download a few more episodes. And then, as I was lying in bed a day or so ago thinking about which male from the show I'd like to see fuck up Sylar (in the naughtiest way possible, of course) I couldn't think of anyone that I was personally attracted to but the one that I'd seen only briefly.

OK, that's not fair, I'd really only seen most of them briefly, but they were actors that I'd seen before anyway. But this bloke, I'd seen in an article about really attractive minorities on television. I'd never, ever seen him before and didn't know how to pronounce his name and hadn't watched the show that he was on (as stated in the article), but GODDESS was he beautiful. And dark with really white teeth and all this curly hair. Mmmmm... lovely.

So, during that lie-in, I remembered him and later got up to find him. Mohinder Suresh. Even his name is lovely. Though it reminds me of "mohito" and then that makes me think of the mohito that I had in Switzerland that had more forest in it that drink. What the hell, man, it had loads of mint leaves and other leafy, fruity shit in it that actual liquid. Quite unnerving and unpleasant, if I must say so.

Anyway, the less said about that the better.

Yes, Mohinder/Sylar... and it's popular I've found. And poor pretty Mohinder. He gets the short end of the stick in that relationship. Which is GREAT! He suffers so well. Not to say that Sylar doesn't, but Mohinder (which people seem to want to call him Momo. I REFUSE to do that!!! WHHHYYY? Mohinder is a grand name. Use it!) does.

If there was a desert when it came to Mohinder/Sylar, then I would have gone with Isaac... I think that's his name. The thin druggy painter? Meh. He was pretty. I'd seen him first on an episode of Merlin. Cute and brown. Pretty smile too.

So, that's my plan for today. I do want to finish watching S5 of Mission Impossible. I miss Paris! Yummy gorgeous sexy Paris. And all that hair! But I'd been so tired and didn't want to waste time stretched out in bed with one eye open trying to watching him. :)

I got a new mouse too which I like. It's wireless and has all these cute functions... which sometimes don't work. I must be doing something wrong. Like the little click button on the side is suppose to go back and forward through your pages. It worked yesterday. Not working today. I don't know what the situation needs to be for it to work, but... guess I'll have to find out.

Hm, I was going to say something else, but it just slipped my mind. Ah well.
