Friday Fun

Eh, still have a bit of a sore throat, which I think is stemming from an ear infection, or at least an ear irritation. I really have to work on my immune system. I seem to be getting sick at the drop of a hat now a days and with this "swine flu" going around... I really don't want to catch that.

Anyway, I saw on one of the Trek bbs that Toys R Us is going to have this massive ST display coming this weekend, so I decided to pop into my local store to check it out. Yep, there was the display selling all three sizes of the figures, 3 inch, 6 inch and 12 inch. And yep, you guessed it, no Uhura in any size. I even asked the girl working the counter if Uhura might be hiding in the back somewhere. Nope. I also heard that both she and Pike would be very rare, being only one figure per carton of assortment. What the fuck. Why? I can see Pike, but Uhura is a vital part of the cast and Spock's woman!! *chuckles* It's not fair to sell him all by his lonesome. Besides, who is she going to cuddle up with at night without her Mr. pointy-ears? It's not fair.

I have to laugh at myself. I already have the 3 inch couple, but I did want the six inchers, because I thought that looked more like the actors. My mate giving me the small Spock and me finding small Uhura is the only reason why I haven't tried to order Uhura online. I'm sure that after the movie is over the toys will be in abundance and on clearance. I'm going to check Amazon right now to see her availability. Gah! I see her, but she's 3 dollars more than the other 6 inch figures. Why??? That doesn't make sense to me at all. Grrrr.

I'll wait. Like I said, I'm not really gunning to get these figures, but it's very curious as to why she's so hard to get.
